I’ve been an outspoken advocate for the Great British Bake-Off (or as some of you from Netflix will know it, Great British Baking Show) for quite some time now, and have watched every season with help from janky YouTube uploads and generally laborious Internet hacking. And, like many people, I was deeply, deeply hurt and offended when the band broke up due to a network shift; judge Mary Berry and hosts Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc pledged their allegiance to the BBC, while Paul Hollywood, the Simon Cowell of baking competitions, decided he was cool with taking the show ...

Where To Go Before the Show (8.23.2017-8.27.2017)

Source: Brightest Young Things NYC

While we DO strongly recommend catching opening bands’ sets before headliners hit the stage, it’s totally understandable if you want to grab a drink or a snack before posting up at a venue for the night. THAT’S why we’re going to highlight spots nearby each week! Here’s the forecast this go-round:

BABY’S ALL RIGHT

Shows this week:  The Nude Party, BOYTOY, Stuyedeyed and Jonathan Toubin (Thursday 8.24), Kitty, Teen Suicide and Effie Liu (Friday 8.25),  Josh Marks (Saturday 8.26)

Featured nearby pick: Baby’s obviously has its own food menu and fully-stocked bar, but if you’re looking to branch out ...
