A restaurant housed in a tech-focused space is open for business in Midtown.

Bytes, a “digitally-infused” space at 848 Spring St., according to a press release, features three large LED screens in the main dining room, a 360 video-mapped private dining room and e-boardrooms, an outdoor patio area with LED-lit furniture, iPad ordering and interactive selfie mirrors in the bathrooms.

The menu offers “small bytes” and a variety of pastas, pizzas, salads, desserts, milkshakes, specialty drinks and cocktails and wine.

Award-winning brewery set to open a brewpub in Forsyth County

The Cumming brewery that won the 2017 U.S. Open Beer Championship is opening a second space in Forsyth County.

Cherry Street Brewing will open a nearly 8,000-square-foot brewpub and beer garden in mixed-use development Halcyon.

The spot will serve a menu of seasonal, upscale pub food. The beer selection will include 16 existing Cherry Street beers, as well as a brew specifically made for the Halcyon location.  The open-air beer garden will feature communal tables, bar space and a stage for special events.

One of the side benefits of The Festival — the expansive international beer tasting presented in Atlanta in August by Shelton Brothers Importers — is the number of rarities that made it to the city for the first time, and even stuck around for a while after the event.

Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market won’t be the only food hall games in town for long.

Caravaca Market, a gourmet food hall from chef Harry Pagancoss, is set to open in late fall in Midtown.

Bulla Gastrobar opened its first Atlanta location in late September in the 12th & Midtown mixed-use development in Midtown, serving dinner nightly and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

Atlanta breweries did very well at this year’s Great American Beer Festival, held Oct. 5-7 in Denver — with Monday Night bringing home two medals, and Max Lager’s, Torched Hop and SweetWater grabbing one medal apiece.

In honor of those accomplishments, the most readily available of the bunch, SweetWater TripleTail IPA, which recently went from a seasonal to a year-round offering, is this week’s Beer Pick.

Guess which city ranks No. 1 in Chick-fil-A consumption

Chick-fil-A is still the most popular on its home turf.

According to a recent Chick-fil-A analysis, Atlantans ate more Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches last year than residents of any other U.S. city.

The company is headquartered in Atlanta.

Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas nabbed the number two spot. Others who made the top 10 list include Houston, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Los Angeles. In total, Chick-fil-A customers ate more than 300 million of the chain’s chicken sandwiches in 2016.

Founder S. Truett Cathy opened the first Chick-fil-A in Atlanta’s Greenbriar Mall in 1967.

Just weeks after unlocking doors, Bluetop is seeing a change in the kitchen. Executive chef Matt Marcus is no longer working at the restaurant located at 5362 Peachtree Road in Chamblee.

Owner Andy Lasky stated that he terminated Marcus yesterday due to “areas of conflict.”

“I like him a lot as a person,” Lasky said. “Professionally, it just wasn’t working out.”
