If you think you’ve exhausted dining options at Avalon in Alpharetta, think again. The mixed-used development at 2200 First Street is getting another restaurant.

Brine Seafood Shack is the latest restaurant to claim space at the bustling shopping and dining destination. Brine, slated to open next spring, is a concept by chef and restaurateur Marc Taft, who brought farm-to-table restaurant Chicken and the Egg to Marietta in 2011.

Avalon, the mixed-use development that opened in Alpharetta in October 2014, just announced a new slate of restaurants, bars and stores set to open in 2017.

The restaurants include:

  • A beer garden from Hop City and The Spotted Trotter — The beer store, which has outposts at Krog Street Market and on the Westside, and the chacuterie, which also has a Krog Street Market location and a Kirkwood store, are teaming up to open an outdoor drinking area.

The Diving Horse, the Avalon, NJ BYOB from the team behind Philadelphia’s Pub & Kitchen and Fitler Dining Room are back for another season down the shore. Reservations are now being accepted and in a change for 2016, the Diving Horse will be open weekends in May. Owner Ed Hackett says, “we usually hold off till Memorial Day Weekend but we received a lot of feedback from guests wanting us to open earlier in the season” so they’re obliging with reservations starting on Saturday, May 7th.

Southern-inspired restaurant Branch & Barrel will officially open today, Dec. 22.  The restaurant is located at Avalon in Alpharetta in the space formerly occupied by Asian fusion quick-serve eatery Bantu. Branch & Barrel is the latest restaurant to debut at the $600 million mixed-use development, which opened in the fall of 2014.

Modern Japanese concept O-Ku Atlanta is opening doors for dinner today, Dec. 17.

The upscale restaurant, located in Midtown’s Westside Ironworks building at 1085 Howell Mill Road, is the latest addition from restaurateur Steve Palmer’s Indigo Road Restaurant Group, which recently expanded to Georgia with the opening of Colletta and a second location for Oak Steakhouse. Both are located in mixed-use development Avalon in Alpharetta. (Three more restaurants will open in Avalon by spring 2016.)
