EaterWire: New Brunch at Cava; Turntable is Coming

On both Saturday and Sunday, all the items on the brunch menu are available for $30 per person. They also have drink specials during brunch like penny Mimosas, $2 Bloody Marys and $2 draft beers.

SHAW&#8212 Mandalay’s $70 pre-set menu has raised some eyebrows. Young & Hungry reports there’s a better deal at brunch for the Burmese restaurant. For $20, diners get Jasmine fried rice, salad, curry and a Burmese iced coffee. [WCP]

Bartender Shuffles: Cava Mezze’s New Mixologist Overhauls Drinks Menu

cavadc.jpegCava Mezze has often been known to D.C. diners more for its spreads and small plates than its sips. A new mixologist will hope to change that.

The restaurant group has hired Glendon Hartley to revamp the cocktail menu. New drinks will involve Greek liquors and spirits, as well as locally-grown spices and seasoning. The drinks will be meant to complement the restaurant’s Mediterranean bent. There will be 15 new mixed drinks added to the list, and the beer and wine selections will also get an update.
