Bedford + Bowery has a picture of this “Notice of Termination,” which notes that the Dumont team is “hereby required to quit, vacate, and surrender possession of the premises within FIVE (5) days.” The message is dated March 21.

Earlier this week, a manager at Dumont Burger denied the rumor that there had been a staff shakeup in the Devlin Metro Group. But now, Kristina Greene, the wife of the late restaurateur Colin Devlin, says that Dumont and Dumont Burger are “no longer in the same ‘family.’” Ms. Greene tells Eater: “Three of the partners at Dumont Burger pushed me out by sending me an email on Christmas Day and then ‘voted’ me out at the first ever shareholder’s meeting held on December 30.”

Williamsburg pioneer DuMont remains closed, after shuttering abruptly for renovations earlier this month. Now a note on the website reiterates what a representative for the restaurant told Eater several weeks ago: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Dumont is closed for renovations in both the kitchen and garden. We expect to reopen in a short period of time. Please check back for updates.”

Earlier today, Eater sources whispered that Williamsburg pioneer Dumont had closed after service on Sunday, possibly for good. Eater reached out to Dumont HQ. Here’s the official word: “Due to certain unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, Dumont is currently closed for renovations in both the kitchen and the garden, we expect to reopen in a short period of time.” The restaurant launched breakfast last month, and it hosted a big New Year’s Eve party last week.

The Water Table set sail for its first dinner service on Friday, nearly a year after Rye and Dumont alum Kelli Farwell first launched her floating restaurant project. For December and January, the former WWII minesweeper departs from India Street Pier for a dinner cruise every Friday and Saturday, serving a $75, three-course meal. Rest in Peace: Dumont Restaurateur Colin Devlin Found Dead in PA

2013_colin_devlin1234.jpgColin Devlin, the restaurateur behind Dumont and Dressler, was found dead in his car near a cemetery in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania this morning. A law-enforcement official said that Colin died from an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound. Devlin was 42.

The restaurateur disappeared after a meeting with his restaurant group on Wednesday. A police official tells the Wall Street Journal, “He had received news about being declined for a business loan, and his businesses were in financial decline.” Devlin reportedly texted his wife on Wednesday night asking that she take care of their children, and she told the ...
