Thanksgiving is likely the most gut-busting meal of the year. For hosts, it’s certainly one of the most stressful to prepare. Thanksgiving for some equates to weeks of planning and days of cooking a multi-dish, family-style throwdown accompanied by an oversized turkey with a pie course. Choosing wines for a meal that incorporates a slew of sweet, savory and buttery rich flavors only adds to the stress.

Melissa Davis, beverage director and assistant general manager at Staplehouse, says choosing wines for a large meal such as Thanksgiving doesn’t ...

Are these Atlanta’s best martinis?

Source: Atlanta Journal Constitution

Ask any martini drinker how they take the cocktail and they’ll rattle off their version without hesitation. It could be vodka, slightly dirty with an olive or gin, dry, straight up with a twist or anything in between. The martini’s proportions and base spirit (vodka or gin) are regularly debated. Should it contain vermouth, and, if so, how much? Are bitters necessary? How dirty is too dirty? One could even argue the martini is simply a state of mind.

We spoke with a handful of Atlanta bartenders and avid martini sippers to get their thoughts ...
