Dish of the Week: Biscuits at Bar Mercado

The fun, though, is not in the ranking, but in exploring all the renditions out there  – including biscuits with a Spanish bent on the brunch menu at newly opened Bar Mercado at Krog Street Market.

What makes these biscuits unusual – and so appealing in flavor ...

Choosing wines for a meal that incorporates a slew of sweet, savory and buttery rich flavors only adds to the stress.

Melissa Davis, beverage director and assistant general manager at Staplehouse, says choosing wines for a large meal such as Thanksgiving doesn’t ...

Source: Atlanta Journal Constitution

It may seem odd to be talking about low-ABV (alcohol-by-volume) cocktails during the world’s largest booze conference. This year’s Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans has crowned the martini its king and seminar subjects include everything from umami flavor in drinks to rare vintage spirits to 400 years of drinking on the high seas. But building a better low-ABV cocktail or session cocktail is on the minds of many of the nearly 15,000 bartenders who’ve converged on the Crescent City for the annual industry conference.

Stock Up: Who needs fresh blueberries? We’ve got juice. We’ve got ketchup. We’ve got vinegar.

Source: Atlanta Journal Constitution

Blueberry season is upon us. Depending on how badly your farmer’s crop was hit by last winter’s cold snap, you may or may not find local blueberries at the market. But you can definitely find delicious products made from the blueberries of seasons past.

Blueberry Ketchup

What is ketchup anyway? It needs to be tangy. It needs to be sweet. It should have some spice to it, although that doesn’t mean heat – just flavor.  It needs to be a complement to grilled meats and must have the right consistency so it works for dipping. And, as it turns out, ...
