Tapas restaurant set to open in Midtown next month

Midtown will get a taste of Spain starting next month.

Florida-based Bulla Gastrobar will open its first Georgia location at 60 11th Street NE in the 12th & Midtown development. The restaurant announced it would open an Atlanta location last year.

The spot will feature an “alta cocina” approach to tapas, ” applying modern innovations to traditional Spanish recipes,” according to a press release. On Saturday afternoon, Max Lager’s in downtown Atlanta, the oldest brewpub in Georgia, hosts its second annual Old 320 Beer Fest.

Billed as “celebrating the independent and innovative culture of craft brewing,” the event features more than 30 craft breweries from Georgia and around the country. Two new restaurants are coming to Chamblee as part of a forthcoming mixed-use development.

Parkview on Peachtree, which will be located at the intersection of Peachtree Road and Clairmont Road, will welcome The Alden and Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar when it opens later this year.

Midtown’s swanky steakhouse, STK Atlanta, is adding one more festive thing to Thursdays: oyster happy hour. Guests can enjoy handpicked selections by executive chef Andrea Montobbio including $1.50 oysters and clams, $3 shrimp, $4 ceviche snow crab claws. The special drink menu features $5 craft beer, $6 wine and $7 cocktails. Because this is STK Atlanta, a local DJ will be in the building spinning party and popular tunes.

The Halcyon development in Forsyth County is starting to take shape with some tasty additions to its roster of tenants.

Another restaurant is being added to the roster of shops and eateries at Duluth restaurant and retail district Parsons Alley.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Maple Street Biscuit Company is set to open this fall in an old Baptist church building in downtown Duluth, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.

Maple Street, which has several locations in Florida as well as a recently opened store in Chattanooga, serves a variety of biscuit sandwiches for breakfast and lunch.
