The Counter closes in Roswell

Roswell is out one fast-casual place for burgers.

The Counter, which opened in 2008 at 850 Mansell Road, closed last week, according to Tomorrow’s News Today. The phone number listed for the restaurant has been disconnected and the location is no longer listed on The Counter’s website.

The Roswell eatery, which opened in 2008, was the only Georgia location of the California-based chain. There are also restaurants in California, Arizona, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, New York, Texas and Virginia.

A Roswell Square restaurant that has been open in some iteration since the 1970s is shutting its doors next week.

Public House, located at 605 Atlanta St., announced the closure on its Facebook page over the weekend:

General manager David Wood said the building’s landlord had a “different vision” for the building, leading to the sudden closure.

The yearly, week-long booze conference is attended by 15,000 bartenders, beverage professionals and journalists from around the world. 4 Rivers Smokehouse is opening tomorrow. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on July 25 at 9 a.m. to celebrate the new location for the barbecue chain. AJC announced last fall that 4 Rivers would be opening its first Georgia location bringing some of the southeast’s best barbecue to Atlanta.
